KHIRKIKhirki is a metal trio from Athens, Greece. The name derives from the legendary sorceressCirce (Κίρκη pronounced [kírkɛː]) from Homer’s Odyssey. For their trademark sound, theband fuses riff-based metal and heavy rock, inspired by bands like Mastodon, Opeth, Tooland Kvelertak, with Greek and Anatolian folk music.In 2021, they self-released their critically acclaimed debutalbum titled Κτηνωδία, which led to signing to VenerateIndustries Record Label that repressed the album the sameyear. The album received 9/10 from Metal Hammer GRmagazine, was featured as Tip of the Month in Rock-Hard DEmagazine and is currently positioned at #50 in the Top 100Stoner Metal Albums of All-Time list in metalstorm.net.In 2024, they released theirsophomore album titled “Κυκεώνας” in which the band furtherdeveloped their sound and production by adding beefier tones,catchier choruses, and daring instrumentation. The album wasalso very well received by the international press, scoring a10/10 in Rock-Hard DE and was featured as an essential releaseby Bandcamp Daily. The release of the album was accompaniedby two official videos that you can watch here and here.Since their inception, the band has built a strong reputation on stage, playing alongsideheavyweight acts like Paradise Lost, Kreator, Fu Manchu, Rotting Christ, and Villagers ofIoannina City, and booking multiple successful tours and festivals across Europe.
